K is for Kings
The award-winning Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre tells the dramatic story of the Battle fought on 22nd August 1485, which marked a major turning point in English history when Richard III lost his life and crown at the hands of Henry Tudor's army.
Discover how the Battle of Bosworth fitted into the Wars of the Roses in the colourful and interactive hands-on displays of our immersive and award-winning exhibition, which has eight interactive galleries. Explore the Bosworth story through characters from the time - John the Archer, the Barber Surgeon, Henry Tudor's stepfather Lord Thomas Stanley, the wife of a French merchant and a young Leicester girl. See the latest archaeological finds in the Quest gallery and learn how this important battlefield was lost and found.
Groups can choose from a range of activities, including guided and self-led walks with views of the battlefield on the 2.2km trail around the site. There is also a choice of engaging living history activities with costumed interpreters, including the life of a medieval soldier and how to make your own bread, medieval-style. The licensed 1485 Tithe Barn restaurant offers a variety of breakfast and lunch options, with locally-sourced produce, and the well-stocked shop offers a unique range of Bosworthrelated souvenirs, gifts and books.
